The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) said on August 27, 2026, that it had delivered a batch of new Su-35S multirole fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces, without saying how many aircraft the batch contained.
The fighters completed a full cycle of factory testing and were flown in a range of operating modes by Ministry of Defense pilots before ferrying from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to their operational base, according to the release.
UAC did not identify the receiving unit, did not name the base the aircraft flew to, and gave no delivery figure. Imagery published with the announcement shows at least two aircraft.

Rostec announced comparable Su-35S handovers on April 17, 2026, and May 26, 2026. None of the three specified a quantity. More than 150 Su-35 have been built at Komsomolsk-on-Amur, according to open-source estimates.
An unnamed Su-35S pilot quoted in the UAC statement said the type is used to intercept air targets at long range, screen strike packages and ground positions, destroy drones, and hit ground and surface targets with precision weapons. The pilot also described reconnaissance work at significant depth beyond the line of contact.
The Su-35S has been Russia’s principal air superiority fighter over Ukraine. Ukraine’s Air Force said one was shot down on the eastern front on July 8, 2026. The Oryx visually documented loss database currently lists nine Russian Su-35S as destroyed since the full-scale invasion began.
