LOT Polish Airlines has launched a new direct route between Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) and Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) in Hanoi, Vietnam, marking the airline’s fifth long-haul destination in Asia. Tickets are now on sale, with the inaugural flight scheduled for March 31, 2027.
The Warsaw-Hanoi route will operate year-round, with three flights each way per week. Departures from Warsaw Chopin Airport are set for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 15:15 local time, while return flights from Hanoi will depart Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 08:35 local time.
The outbound flight is expected to take about 10 hours and 25 minutes, with the return trip running roughly 11 hours and 20 minutes, both operated using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Expanding LOT’s footprint in Asia
Hanoi joins Tokyo, Seoul, New Delhi, and Bangkok as LOT’s fifth long-haul destination in Asia, with the airline also expected to launch direct flights to Bangkok in the near future.
Robert Ludera, Board Member and Chief Commercial Officer at LOT Polish Airlines, noted that the new route reflects the airline’s ambition to expand its presence in Asia, while further developing Warsaw as a connecting hub between Central and Eastern Europe and some of the world’s fastest-growing destinations.
He pointed to Vietnam’s rising importance for Polish business and tourism, along with its cultural and natural diversity, as key reasons behind the expansion.
What travelers can expect in Hanoi
Vietnam’s capital is known for its heavy traffic, street vendors, and daily life centered around street-side markets and food stalls.
Popular sites include Hoàn Kiếm Lake, the historic Old Quarter, the Temple of Literature, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex. In the evenings, traditional water puppet theater remains a distinctive local art form. The city is also known for its food scene, with dishes like pho and bun cha, along with Vietnam’s signature egg coffee.
Hanoi also serves as a common starting point for longer trips through northern Vietnam, including Sapa, Ninh Binh, and Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

LOT Polish Airlines currently operates direct long-haul flights to destinations in the United States, Canada, India, Japan, and South Korea using its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.
