Korean Air has reached a significant milestone: three decades of flying from South Korea to China.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the service, the carrier held commemorative events at four major Chinese airports across its network.

On December 22, 2024, the airline hosted passenger appreciation events at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and Shenyang Taoxian International Airport (SHE).

The airline gave roundtrip Prestige Class tickets to South Korea to the 30th passenger on flights KE2202 Beijing to Seoul Gimpo Airport (GMP) and KE832 Shenyang Airport (SHE) to Seoul Incheon Airport (ICN). All passengers also received 30th anniversary commemorative tote bags.

Special events have also been planned for Tianjin Binhai International Airport (TSN) and Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport (TAO) on December 24, 2024 for flights KE806 (Tianjin-Seoul Incheon) and KE846 (Qingdao-Seoul Incheon).

Korean Air first launched its China operations on December 22, 1994 with the ICN Airport-PEK Airport route, followed by services to Tianjin, Qingdao and Shenyang. Korean Air now operates 27 routes to 21 Chinese cities.

The airline has consistently provided humanitarian support across China, from flood relief in Hubei Province in 1998 to emergency aid after the Sichuan earthquake in 2008, including student visits to Jeju Island, and medical supply donations to Wuhan in 2020 during the early stages of COVID-19.
