Japan Airlines has unveiled a specially themed aircraft celebrating Tokyo DisneySea’s 25th anniversary, with domestic flights that began on June 4, 2026, and continue through April 2027.

The “JAL Jubilee Express,” a Boeing 737-800, features a custom livery built around the theme park’s ongoing “Tokyo DisneySea 25th Sparkling Jubilee” celebration. JAL and Oriental Land Co., the operator of Tokyo Disney Resort, first announced the aircraft on April 16, 2026, ahead of its debut.

The JAL Jubilee Express is a Boeing 737-800 registered JA339J, measuring 39.5 meters in length and 12.5 meters in height, with a wingspan of 35.8 meters. The aircraft seats 165 passengers, 20 in Class J and 145 in economy.

The aircraft operates on a range of domestic routes typically flown by JAL’s 737-800 fleet. JAL posts the specific flight numbers and routes for the Jubilee Express on its website the evening before each flight.

A partnership dating back to 1983

JAL has served as an official sponsor of Tokyo Disney Resort since Tokyo Disneyland first opened in 1983. The two companies produced their first special aircraft livery together in 2001, the same year Tokyo DisneySea opened, and the JAL Jubilee Express now marks their seventh joint aircraft project.

Tokyo DisneySea officially turns 25 on September 4, 2026, though anniversary celebrations at the park are already underway and will continue through March 31, 2027.

Aircraft design and features

The aircraft’s exterior is painted in “Jubilee Blue,” the signature color of the anniversary celebration, drawing on the ocean theme that defines Tokyo DisneySea. The design features Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters in special anniversary outfits, alongside imagery of the park’s AquaSphere and Mount Prometheus landmarks.

The themed experience carries into the cabin as well. Passengers flying on the aircraft will find special anniversary-designed headrest covers and paper cups, with three different cup designs distributed at random. Those flying on the JAL Jubilee Express also receive a commemorative boarding certificate sticker, also available in three designs and handed out randomly, one per passenger per flight. Both the cups and stickers are available only while supplies last.
