Israeli Apache helicopter downs kamikaze drone with gunfire: video

Footage emerged on social media on November 2, 2024, of an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) AH-64 Apache helicopter gunship shooting down a drone over northern Israel. 

The incident reportedly happened south of Haifa, Israel, after a kamikaze drone launched by Hezbollah, entered Israeli airspace from Lebanon. 

The Apache helicopter used its M230 chain gun to intercept the unmanned aircraft from up close. 

Footage shows the drone falling from the sky and exploding into an apparently empty field after the successful interception. 

The incident happened amidst the ongoing exchanges of fire between the Israel and Hezbollah. On November 2, 2024, several rockets were launched towards Israel from the north, injuring several people, while Israel continued to launch air strikes on targets located in Lebanon, with some 11 people reportedly killed near Baalbek according to Lebanese media.
