Gulfstream announced on December 2, 2024, that the first Gulfstream G800 aircraft with a fully outfitted cabin has started flight tests.
This stage of the G800 flight test program will allow Gulfstream to validate the cabin design and evaluate the performance of a fully outfitted aircraft.
The first flight of the fully outfitted G800 took place on November 27, 2024, and lasted for one hour and 41 minutes, during which time the aircraft reached an altitude of 46,000 feet (14,021 meters) and a top speed of Mach 0.91.
This is the third G800 test aircraft operated by Gulfstream within the framework of the type’s certification program.
The G800 is capable of carrying up to 19 passengers over 8,000 nautical miles (14,816 kilometers) at Mach 0.85 and slightly less, 7,000 nm (12,964 km), if flying faster at Mach 0.90. In addition to being the longest-ranged aircraft in Gulfstream’s family of executive jets it has numerous commonalities with the G700, which entered service in April 2024, such as the state-of-the-art symmetry flight deck.
