Gulfstream has confirmed that the first two brand-new ultra-long-range G700 private jet aircraft have already been delivered to customers.

News of the first deliveries comes just weeks after the Gulfstream G700 private jet was granted type certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Gulfstream also confirmed on April 23, 2024, that the two new jets have now entered service.

“Beginning G700 customer deliveries less than one month after achieving Federal Aviation Administration type certification marks an incredible milestone in Gulfstream’s history of raising the bar for the business aviation industry,” Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream, said. “We appreciate the confidence our customers have demonstrated in our aircraft and look forward to continuing these deliveries in the weeks ahead.”

Gulfstream took the decision to stockpile the aircraft while awaiting certification and had more than 30 ready to deliver to customers in 2023.

Chair and CEO of parent company General Dynamics, Phebe Novakovic, previously said that it plans to deliver a “considerable number” of G700s so “must build them now and incur some period costs without the related revenue”.

The G700 set more than 50 city-pair speed records prior to entering service and can fly 7,750 nautical miles/14,353 km at Mach 0.85 or 6,650 nm/12,316 km at Mach 0.90.

The maximum operating speed of the G700 is Mach 0.935, the fastest in the Gulfstream fleet.

“We are excited for our customers to experience the unparalleled G700 as we continue to deliver this exceptional aircraft around the world,” Burns added.
