Fiji Airways is looking to expand its reach in North America with a direct flight from Nadi International Airport (NAN) to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

The flag carrier of Fiji filed its NAN-DFW operation plans with the US Department of Transportation (DOT) on July 11, 2024.

In the filing, the airline said it plans to deploy its 334-seat Airbus A350-900 fleet to Dallas.

Fiji Airways took delivery of its third and newest Airbus A350-900XWB (A350) in August 2023 as part of its fleet modernization. It currently has four A350-900 aircraft, four A330s, and six Boeing 737s in its fleet.

The carrier intends to operate the direct route three times weekly (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday).

If approved by the DOT, Dallas will be Fiji Airways’ fourth destination in the US, following Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) in Honolulu. The airline also flies to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in Canada.

If the Fijian national carrier gets the approval to operate the direct Dallas route, it will become the airline’s longest flight at 6,625 miles, 760 miles longer than the airline’s current longest to Vancouver.
