Etihad is bolstering its Asian network reach, deploying its A380 aircraft to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), and increasing its Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) service to three times daily.
The Abu-Dhabi based carrier made the announcement regarding the deployment of its A380 fleet to Singapore on August 9, 2024,to coincide with Singapore National Day.
Etihad will commence its A380 Singapore flights on February 1, 2025. With this latest addition, Etihad will now be flying to four cities with its A380. The three other cities are London Heathrow Airport (LHR), New York’s John F Kennedy Airport (JFK), and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), which will be served by the A380 from November 1, 2024.
By the beginning of 2025, Etihad will have six A380 aircraft in operation.
“This aircraft provides our business and leisure travelers with an exceptional flying experience and seamless connections to our Middle East, European, and North American networks. It highlights Etihad’s dedication to optimizing travel to Abu Dhabi and beyond, ensuring more convenience and comfort for our guests,” Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive Officer said in a statement.
“We will have our sixth A380 online next year as we build our capacity further to cater for the travel needs of our guests,” Neves added.
Etihad’s A380 aircraft are equipped with The Residence, the world’s only three-room suite in any aircraft. Accommodating up to two guests, The Residence features a private living room, bedroom and ensuite bathroom, complete with a shower, at 40,000 feet.
Increase in flights to Thailand
Etihad also announced that from October 27, 2024, it will be boosting its Bangkok flights to three times per day, flying a total of 41 flights to the Thai capital every week to meet increased demand.
Additionally, Etihad will fly to Phuket International Airport (HKT) 20 times a week.
