Etihad Airways will introduce 10 new destinations starting in 2025 to increase the number of visitors to Abu Dhabi.
In a press release, published on November 25, 2024, the carrier said that this announcement is part of its expansion program, which is set to bring tens of thousands of new visitors directly to Abu Dhabi.
“Launching ten new destinations in a single day underscores our commitment to growing our airline with a route network and world-class, customer-focused service,” Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad’s CEO said. “This milestone would not have been possible without the extraordinary efforts of our team and the ongoing support of our guests.”
Starting on July 2, 2025, the carrier will launch round-trip flights between Abu Dhabi and Atlanta, United States. These flights will run four times a week using an Airbus A350. From September 7–8, 2025, the carrier plans for a new daily round-trip service linking Abu Dhabi and Taipei, operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
In October 2025, Etihad will launch three round-trip routes from Abu Dhabi to Medan in Indonesia, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and Krabi in Thailand. Flights to Medan will run three times a week, to Phnom Penh five times a week, and Krabi will have daily flights. An Airbus A321LR will be used for these services.
On November 1, 2025, the carrier will begin flights to and from Tunis, Tunisia. This route will run three times a week using an Airbus A321LR aircraft. Additionally, the airline will introduce four more routes in November 2025, linking Abu Dhabi with Chiang Mai in Thailand, Hanoi in Vietnam, Hong Kong in China and Algiers. The flights to Chiang Mai, Hanoi, and Algiers will also use the Airbus A321LR, while the Hong Kong route will be serviced by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
These new routes will add to the carrier’s previously announced destination of Prague, Warsaw, and Al Alamein for 2025. Etihad added that Zayed International Airport (AUH) will support the launch of these destinations.
“2025 marks a pivotal year for Etihad, with more than 90 destinations in over 50 countries, a fleet of more than 110 aircraft – including our new A321LRs – welcoming over 20 million guests onboard,” Neves said. “Most importantly, it will support us in bringing over a million visitors to Abu Dhabi.”
