Emirates has unveiled two more routes where retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft will be introduced after the first was launched earlier this month from Dubai to Geneva.
Emirates announced on August 13, 2024, that its newly refurbished Boeing 777s will operate to both Zurich and Riyadh from October 1, 2024, as rollout of its upgraded jets continues.
Emirates confirmed that from October 2024, passengers on flights EK85 and EK86 to Zurich, and EK819 and EK820 to Riyadh, will enjoy an enhanced Boeing 777 experience which includes the airline’s latest cabins.
According to Emirates, the Riyadh service will be the first debut of Emirates’ Premium Economy in the Middle East.
Additionally, from September 22, 2024, Geneva will become the first city in the Emirates network to offer Premium Economy seats and newly refreshed Business Class cabins on all flights, with the introduction of the retrofitted 777 on flights EK89 and EK90.
And from October 9, 2024, Emirates will operate its second retrofitted 777 to Brussels on flights EK181 and EK182 six times a week.
Emirates plans to serve 28 cities with its Premium Economy product on refurbished Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft by the end of this year.
So far, 25 aircraft have been retrofitted, with 17 more aircraft set to undergo the transformation by December 2024.
Emirates’ $3 billion dollar program to refresh and upgrade the passenger experience onboard its long-haul fleet began in November 2022 with its Airbus A380 fleet.
The retrofit program, known as ‘Project Phoenix,’ involves 191 aircraft and is expected to run until the end of 2025.
