Cathay Pacific will restart its daily direct flights to Hyderabad (HYD), the capital of Telangana in India, beginning on March 30, 2025.
The upcoming Hong Kong-Hyderabad service marks the airline’s latest step in strengthening its network presence in India and enhancing connectivity at its home hub, Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), according to a press release published on November 11, 2024.
“The resumption reaffirms our established presence in India and our commitment to enhancing our services in this important market,” said Lavinia Lau, Cathay Chief Customer and Commercial Officer. “Our efforts to foster cultural connections and facilitate trade between our home city and India will continue as we further strengthen our network to grow and develop Hong Kong as a leading international aviation hub.”
The service from Hong Kong to Hyderabad will be operated by the airline’s Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Initially, there will be three flights a week upon launch, increasing to five flights a week starting from September 1, 2025.
The service will also connect more travelers from India to Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland and beyond via the airline’s extensive global network at its home hub, the press release continued.
Currently, Cathay Pacific currently operates 31 round-trip flights each week to four cities in India: Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai. By March 30, 2025, this number will increase to 39 flights per week, and then to 43 flights per week by September 1, 2025.
In addition to the five weekly flights to Hyderabad, there will be two daily flights to Delhi, 10 flights per week to Mumbai, and daily services to both Bengaluru and Chennai.
