Boeing has recruited the CEO of Brazilian low-cost airline GOL Linhas Aéreas as its new president for the Latin America and the Caribbean regions.
On August 13, 2026, Boeing announced Celso Ferrer would join the company in his new leadership role on September 4, 2026.
Ferrer has served as CEO of GOL Linhas Aéreas for the last four years after joining the carrier in 2004 as an intern.
During his time with the Abra Group owned airline, Ferrer also served as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Planning.
Boeing said Ferrer will be “responsible for strengthening Boeing’s operations, strategy, and presence across the region” and supporting growth opportunities throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
“Celso brings exceptional experience, leadership skills and expertise to this role,” Dr. Brendan Nelson AO, President of Boeing Global, said. “With more than 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, Celso is the right person to address the opportunities and challenges this dynamic and important region presents for Boeing.”
According to GOL Linhas Aéreas, Ferrer is a certified pilot for Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-800 Next Generation, and Boeing 737-8 Max aircraft.

The former president for the Latin America and the Caribbean, Landon Loomis, started a new role as president of Boeing China in October 2025.
