Boeing commercial aircraft deliveries in 2026 have fallen further behind rival Airbus after momentum built in May and June appeared to slow.

On August 11, 2026, Boeing announced that 53 aircraft were delivered to customers in July 2026. Just days before, Airbus said it delivered 67 aircraft over the same month.

The latest figures mean that in the first seven months this year Boeing has delivered 367 planes while Airbus has delivered 418. Over the same period in 2025, Boeing delivered 328 jets.

Only last month Boeing was celebrating its highest delivery total (314) for the first six months of the year since 2018. At the same stage, Airbus delivered 351 jets.

Boeing’s strong performance in the first six months came off the back of a positive June 2026 when 64 aircraft were delivered and May 2026 when 60 were handed over to customers.

The US aircraft manufacturer will no doubt be hoping to return to figures in the 60s in August 2026.

AerCap was among the customers that received new planes, taking possession of nine 737 MAXs and one 787-9.

Air India, Lufthansa, Korean Air, Riyadh Air, and United Airlines also all received brand new 787-9 Dreamliners. United Airlines received three 787-9s while Riyadh Air and Lufthansa both got two 787-9s.

In total, Boeing delivered 10 Dreamliners in July 2025 and 13 in June 2026, suggesting that production bottlenecks had now been eased.

Boeing also registered 38 orders last month including Farnborough Airshow purchases from AerCap, Luxair and Uganda National Airlines.

There was also an order for five 737 MAXs from an undisclosed customer and a single order for a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) also from an unidentified customer.
