Japan’s All Nippon Airways’ (ANA) latest safety guide video features something a little bit different – and some adorable cameos.
Instead of highlighting sweeping views and breathtaking tourist spots, the Japanese carrier has opted to feature characters from video game series Pokemon to highlight safety guidelines.
The airline launched the new safety video on August 15, 2024.
“We aim to provide excitement to our customers and provide an in-flight safety video that can be enjoyed by people of all ages,” the airline said of its collaboration with Nintendo’s The Pokemon Company.
Aside from talking passengers through safety procedures, the bilingual safety video shows Pokemon characters demonstrating what will likely occur when regulations are not adhered to, such as fastening seat belts.
ANA also released an accompanying disembarkation video featuring Pokemon characters showing passengers how to navigate the airport with the help of airline staff.
The videos are a part of ANA’s wider collaboration with The Pokemon Company, which has also resulted in creature-themed planes.
ANA has a long tradition of a succession of Pokemon-themed aircraft. Since 1998, at least 10 other jets have been decorated in liveries inspired by the popular characters.
