During May 2024, Airbus received an order for 20 A330neo aircraft from an undisclosed customer, plus seven A321neos from Nordic Aviation Capital.

On June 6, 2024, details of these transactions were laid out in Airbus’ monthly order and delivery summary report for the previous month.

Earlier this week, AeroTime reported that Airbus had held discussions with assorted Chinese airlines regarding the potential sale of more than 100 A330neo widebody aircraft.

According to Airbus, the order for the 20 A330neo jets was placed on May 15, 2024.

In its latest monthly report Airbus also confirmed that it had delivered 53 aircraft to 34 customers during May, including its 600th A350.

The total number of A350s to have been delivered by Airbus since the aircraft was introduced on January 15, 2015, now stands at 602.

Air Lease Cooperation received the 602nd and Virgin Atlantic the 601st, but it was Lufthansa that took ownership of the 600th Airbus A350.

Turkish Airlines was the only other carrier to receive a new A350 in May 2024.

Airbus also delivered three new aircraft to Delta Air Lines, including two A321neos and a single A220-300, while Spirit Airlines received A320neos.

According to Reuters, Airbus deliveries were down 16% in May 2024, when compared with the same month last year.

In total, Airbus has delivered 256 aircraft this year. The company is aiming to reach 800 by January 31, 2025.
