Air India is debuting its first Airbus A350 service to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) after departing from Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL).
The Airbus A350-900 departed India at 02:42 on January 2, 2024, and is due to land at Newark Liberty Airport just before 07:00 local time.
The new non-stop service follows Air India’s introduction of an A350 flight from Delhi to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York on November 1, 2024.
“With this, Air India now serves all non-stop flights between India’s capital and the New York region with its A350 aircraft, offering its all-new interiors, including private suites in Business Class and a Premium Economy cabin, as well as an award-winning new Inflight Entertainment (IFE) system, enhanced catering, and new serviceware,” said a spokesperson for Air India.

Air India’s first ever A350-900 flight left Bengaluru Kempegowda Airport (BLR) for Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport (BOM) on January 22, 2024.
Air India then launched its first international A350 flight on May 1, 2024, to Dubai, followed by its first long-haul A350 flight in September 2024, to London-Heathrow Airport (LHW).
Air India also currently operates long-haul flights to Washington DC, Chicago, and San Francisco using its fleet of Boeing widebodies including the 777-300ER.
On December 9, 2024, Air India confirmed it was behind a previously undisclosed order placed with Airbus for 10 A350-900s and 90 single-aisle A320neo family aircraft.
This comes on top of an order for 40 A350s and 210 A320neo family aircraft placed by Air India in 2023.
