Air France has announced that it has renamed and rebranded its “Premium Economy” cabin product to “highlight its move upmarket and the quality of its product and service offering”.
Going forward Air France will refer to “Premium Economy” as simply “Premium” as it looks to redefine passengers’ travel experience on its fleet and long-haul network.
Among its Premium cabin product, passengers enjoy Air France’s latest recliner seat model on selected Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s.
The seats come with a recline of up to 124 degrees and 94 to 97 cm of space to stretch out their legs.
As part of its cabin renewal, Air France will offer recliner seats on nearly 80% of its fleet by the end of 2025.

During the flight, Premium guests are provided with a complementary comfort kit dedicated to this cabin, noise-reducing headphones, a blanket and a pillow.
And even before takeoff a glass of champagne is offered to each customer by the crew members to welcome them.
Each seat has a large 13.3-inch 4K Ultra HD anti-glare touchscreen, USB ports, access to Wi-Fi and to ensure the trip starts in the best way possible each Premium customer benefits from SkyPriority to navigate through the airport seamlessly.
Premium customers won’t find themselves disappointed with the meals onboard either due to their curation by Michelin star chef Frédéric Simonin.
Air France offers everyone a complete “French-style” meal consisting of aperitif biscuits, a starter, a choice of two hot dishes, a cheese and a dessert.

Premium customers can pick between chicken in prune sauce accompanied by peas, red onion compote and asparagus tips or trofie pasta gratin with porcini mushrooms and asparagus.

We went Premium this last spring from Montreal to Milan with Air France. We are longtime Air France fans. But our experience was soooo bad, we will now use almost any other airline to avoid them. The food was absolutely inedible ( far worse than Transat and that’s saying something). The headphones did not function, and the seating area was noisier that std economy. All this for 3x the price of economy.
We travelled in Air France Premium to Paris CDG from Vancouver YVR recently and it was awful. Old 777, broken uncomfortable seats, and non-functioning amenities. Even flight crew were upset with the aircraft’s condition. Air France needs to “pull up its socks”.
I travelled Air France Premium Economy Osaka to CDG the plane was old and it’s fit out tired. My 6ft 2 inch tall sons seat was broken and he ended up having less legroom than he would have had in Economy. It was a disgrace as the flight was full he had suffer this for a fourteen hour flight. Air France needs to offer a consistent product on all all services before claiming their service is a premium service as its quite apparent it is not.
On some of Air France’s airplanes, premium is really good. The airline has many aircraft coming. Things will get better.
We traveled, there and back, from Costa Rica to CDG in Paris and the seats were awful but the food was good.
My daughter and I travelled Business class with Air France from Nairobi to Montreal in August 2024, got one of our luggage lost. Now Air France is offering to reimburse peanut compare to what we had to spend to replace the lost items needed. And they’re saying that refund will take upto 2 months. How ridiculous is that!
