Aer Lingus has announced that it will fly direct services from Dublin to Nashville, Tennessee from April 2025. The new flights will operate four days per week starting April 12, 2025, using the carrier’s brand new Airbus A321XLR narrowbodies, the first of which are due to be delivered to the airline by the end of 2024.

The new 3,905-mile (6,248km) route will see two cities renowned for their musical heritage linked by direct services for the first time, with Nashville also described as one of the fastest-growing cities in the US and is known by the nickname ‘Music City‘ for its deep-rooted and legendary status as the spiritual home of country music.

“We are thrilled to add Nashville to our expanding North American network, offering Irish customers direct access to one of the most exciting and culturally rich cities in the United States,” said Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus’ Chief Customer Officer.

“The connection between Irish and American country music runs deep and Nashville’s iconic status as the capital of country music makes it a dream destination for music lovers. Its fast-growing fashion, finance, healthcare, and automotive industries also offer plenty of opportunities for business travelers,” she added.

Doug Kreulen, President and CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) said: “A new chapter in travel history begins today as Music City and the Emerald Isle are linked by a nonstop flight through our exciting new partnership with Aer Lingus.

More about Nashville

According to an Aer Lingus statement, Nashville is “home to some of the most celebrated music venues and institutions in the world. Visitors can explore legendary sites like the Grand Ole Opry, which has been hosting performances since 1925, or take a stroll down Music Row, where the city’s heart beats in the form of recording studios and publishing houses. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Ryman Auditorium are must-see stops for anyone wanting to dive into the history and evolution of the genre.”

Additionally, and looking beyond its musical heritage, Nashville is one of the fastest-growing cities in the US, with a metro population of 2.4 million people. Industry sectors driving this growth include fashion, healthcare, finance, and automotive, as well as the wider music production and recording industry.

“I am thrilled to see Music City connect to the Emerald Isle and excited for Nashvillians and Dubliners to experience what each city has to offer – both our similarities and what makes us unique. Nashville’s increased travel options afford us the opportunity to show visitors all that makes Nashville such a vibrant and welcoming city – and for Nashvillians to experience the rich history of a city like Dublin,” commented Freddie O’Connell, Mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Aer Lingus says that adding the new direct connections will allow for “stronger economic ties and business travel between Ireland, Nashville, and the wider state of Tennessee where there are several economic synergies.”

As well as offering a direct connection between Ireland and Nashville, Aer Lingus will offer connections through Dublin to 22 destinations across Europe, including London, Edinburgh, Rome, Amsterdam, Paris, Manchester, and Berlin. Meanwhile, all US-bound customers will have the ability to pre-clear US customs & immigration facility at Dublin airport before they depart to Nashville.
