WestJet to launch new Kelowna-Seattle route for winter 2024/2025

WestJet has announced the launch of new daily flights between Kelowna and Seattle, starting in January 2025. The new route will connect the Okanagan region to the Pacific Northwest and beyond. 

The new Kelowna-Seattle route will operate five times a week starting from January 17, 2025. The new service will connect 24 codeshare destinations in the western US, amongst them Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, San Diego and Phoenix.  

The departure time for flights from Kelowna to Seattle is 9:00 local time, with a return time of 11:30 local time. The flight back to Seattle is scheduled to land at 12:37 local time, having departed at 11:30 local time. The flights will be operated by Delta Air Lines aircraft.  

In a press release, John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer said: “This route will provide guests in the Okanagan and across the Pacific Northwest regions with new convenient and affordable options to easily connect between both popular regions for business and leisure year-round.”  

The carrier will serve a total of 12 destinations from Kelowna International Airport (YLW) with up to 20 daily departures out of YLW during peak winter travel, including frequent flights from Kelowna to Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Vancouver, plus other domestic and international destinations.  

On July 22, 2024, WestJet announced its 2024/2025 winter schedule, which shows expansion throughout the country, including Kelowna. This winter WestJet Group is set to offer 320 direct flights to 63 locations in the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America.
