United Airlines is bringing back a popular treat next month after announcing the return of its ice cream sundae cart service on its business class.
The service is currently available on select flights from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and starting February 2023, passengers on long-haul international flights will also be able to enjoy the sundae service.
The ice cream sundae cart service was a popular feature of the airline until it was discontinued during the COVID-19 pandemic when United replaced the service with pre-packaged ice cream in order to curb the spread of the virus.
It made a brief, limited return in 2022 but was only available on select SFO flights.
Based on a report by Travel Noire, United sent a memo to flight attendants, explaining that the return of the ice cream sundae service was based on passenger and flight attendant feedback.
“Based on customer and flight attendant feedback, we’re revamping the Polaris dessert service and are bringing back a new three-tier dessert cart for our signature ice cream sundae service,” the note said.
