United Airlines has unveiled its largest-ever winter flight expansion to cater to increased winter travel demand.
The airline plans to add more flights to popular Florida destinations and ski resorts, with a nearly 20% increase in its flight schedule compared to last winter.
“We know that November is when most people start their winter travel planning so we’re adding these flights to give customers more options than ever,” said Mark Weithofer, United’s Managing Director of Domestic Network Planning, in a press release. “We’ve already begun to see record breaking demand for winter travel and whether customers are looking to unwind on the beach or hit the slopes, United is the clear choice for those planning their getaways.”
United is enhancing its services to popular sun destinations, including Miami (MIA), Tampa (TPA), and Orlando (MCO). The airline will operate larger planes with increased seating capacity, which will include the Boeing 737-700 and its newest aircraft, the Airbus A321neo. The airline took delivery of its first A321neo on October 12, 2023.
It will also introduce mainline aircraft on routes between Key West International Airport (EYW) and United Hub airports such as Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Washington Dulles (IAD), Houston (IAH), and Newark/New York (EWR).
