Transavia France, the French low-cost subsidiary of the Air France-KLM group, has announced 10 new summer routes for 2025. The latest batch of new routes will see the airline operate services to several major European cities such as Brussels, Amsterdam, and Munich.

Kicking off on March 30, 2024, flights between Paris-Orly (ORY) and Amsterdam-Schiphol (AMS) will operate five times per week.  Meanwhile, flights between Paris-Orly and Munich (MUC) will begin on April 3, 2025. Starting April 18, 2025, flights between Bordeaux (BOD) and Brussels (BRU) will commence with two weekly flights operating on Mondays and Fridays.

In addition to these new routes, the airline has also revealed it will be expanding flights to the Mediterranean, adding flights from Nantes (NTE) and Bordeaux to Tirana (TIA), and routes from Marseille (MRS) to Djerba (DJE), Funchal (FNC), and Larnaca (LCA). Elsewhere in France, Lyon (LYS) will be linked with Chania (CHQ) in Crete, while a new domestic route will connect Montpellier (MPL) to Bastia (BIA) on the island of Corsica.

The announcement comes as the carrier plans for a bumper summer 2025 season. Only in October 2024, the airline announced eight other new routes, including its first flights serving Chisinau (RMO) in Moldova, and Sofia (SOF) in Bulgaria, both to be served from the airline’s main base at Paris-Orly. Services to Chisinau commence on July 7, 2025, while those to Sofia start on April 10, 2025, to Sofia.

Transavia is continuing to strengthen its position at several French regional airports in the summer of 2025, with Bordeaux becoming a focus city for the budget carrier. Bordeaux-originating travelers will be offered new flights to Faro (FAO) while also benefiting from services to six other destinations, including new routes to Porto (OPO), Seville (SVQ), Marrakech (RAK), Agadir (AGA), Istanbul (IST), and Marseille (MRS).

Meanwhile, Marseille residents will have a direct flight to Athens (ATH) in Greece. Two other international connections are being added to Transavia’s network in the summer of 2025 including Istanbul (IST) from Strasbourg (STR) and Brussels from Montpellier.

Another A321neo arrives

While the French division of Transavia storms ahead with its expansion plans for 2025, the Franco-Dutch airline group has just received its seventh new Airbus A321neo aircraft direct from the manufacturer. On December 14, 2024, the newest addition to the group fleet (registered PH-YHC) entered service with the Dutch arm of Transavia operating a rotation from Amsterdam to Athens.

The airline group is in the process of rolling over its fleet of older Boeing 737-700s and 737-800s to more modern and fuel-efficient Airbus A320neo family aircraft. The investment will contribute directly to the target of a 20% reduction in noise pollution around Amsterdam-Schiphol in particular, according to the carrier.

With Transavia’s fleet renewal program underway, the first four Boeing 737-700s have already left the fleet. The plan is to make Transavia’s fleet increasingly younger, quieter, and more economical as net zero targets loom larger on the horizon. The airline received its first Airbus aircraft in December 2023 and now has 16 in service over the group – seven A321neos with Transavia Holland and nine A320neos with Transavia France.
