Tigerair Taiwan employees are set to receive year-end bonuses with an average equivalent of up to 12.5 months’ worth of salary.

The bonus, which is performance-based, will be given during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday, which falls on January 29, 2025.

The average of 12.5 months’ salary is the highest year-end bonus given by an airline. In 2024, the low-cost carrier gave its employees an average bonus of 10.8 months’ pay for performance in 2023.

Local news outlet Focus Taiwan reported that some employees will get up to 17.4 months’ bonus for 2025.

Tigerair Taiwan said the year-end bonus took into consideration efforts made by all employees during the working year of 2024.

The carrier also said it decided it would share operating profits with company employees.

On top of the generous bonus, the airline will also offer a fixed monthly salary increase of NT$3,000 (US$90.99) to all employees, with an average salary raise of 4% for 2025.

On January 8, 2025, Taiwanese flag carrier China Airlines announced plans to give its employees a bonus worth 6.6 months’ salary.

Meanwhile, staff from fellow Taiwanese carriers could expect a six-month bonus and a 3.5% wage increase (EVA Air), and for STARLUX, a two-month bonus and a 5% wage increase.
