Thai Airways and Gulf Air have moved to strengthen their partnership by expanding their codeshare agreement to include more destinations and routes.

On September 29, 2024, the flag carriers for Bahrain and Thailand confirmed that they would offer passengers more options for travel under their codeshare agreement across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.

Thai Airways passengers will now have access to Gulf Air-operated flights to Cairo, Kuwait City, Amman, Casablanca, Athens and Manchester via Bahrain.

Likewise, Gulf Air passengers will be able to access destinations such as Chiang Rai, Udon Thani, Krabi, Sydney and Denpasar through the Thai Airways network.

Previously the codeshare agreement between Thai Airways and Gulf Air only included routes between Bangkok, Manama and Abu Dhabi.

“This partnership reaffirms the airlines’ commitment to providing greater choice, convenience, and an enriched travel experience for their customers,” a spokesperson for Thai Airways said.

On informing its customers of the new enhanced agreement, Gulf Air declared that passengers can now “enjoy travelling all over Thailand with our airline partner – Thai Airways” and book trips to Chiang Rai, Krabi or Hat Yai.

Codeshare agreements allow airlines to expand their network and increase revenues, while passengers benefit from a more seamless travel experience when transferring between carriers.
