Sydney Airport (SYD) has announced that it is soon to welcome a flagship showroom for Chinese smart electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng at the airport’s domestic precinct.

From November 2024, the 3,000sqm flagship showroom will offer customers an immersive experience with the opportunity to test drive vehicles from XPeng’s extensive range.

The showroom will be located on the corner of Sir Reginald Ansett Drive and Joyce Drive, at the entry to Sydney Airport’s domestic precinct.

“We are excited to welcome Xpeng to Sydney Airport in an Australian first and take pride in their choice of our gateway to Australia as the location for their largest sales hub and experience center,” Mark Zaouk, Group Executive Commercial at Sydney Airport said in a statement.

“The site XPENG has selected for their experience center is right at our doorstep—the true front door to Australia—making it one of the most visible locations in Sydney, seen by more than 100,000 people daily,” Zaouk added.

TrueEV is the exclusive Australian importer, distributor and retailer for XPENG. Jason Clarke, CEO of TrueEV, said: “Setting up a showroom at the front of Sydney Airport’s domestic precinct is a game-changer for TrueEV and Xpeng. This premium location not only enhances our brand visibility but also offers customers the ultimate convenience to drop in, explore, and experience our products in a vibrant setting – making our brand accessible to customers seeking quality and innovation.”

In September 2024, Xpeng Aeroht debuted the physical appearance of its modular flying car, the ‘Land Aircraft Carrier’. The flying module took off vertically from the grass, circled once in the air, and smoothly landed.
