The next time you fly Vueling with a pet in the cabin, don’t be surprised when they’re also offered a mid-flight snack.
The Spanish low-cost carrier started offering treats for pets as part of its buy-on-board menu, making it the first European airline to roll out such an initiative.
Vueling’s Barcelona-based team collaborated with Newrest Travel Retail to revamp its on-board menu for the 2023-2024 winter season.
For its in-flight pet snacks, the airline partnered with Belgian pet food company Edgar and Cooper, known for its sustainable pet food made from natural ingredients.
The pet menu will include chicken bars and beef bites priced at €3.50 ($3.78) and €5.50 ($5.93), respectively.
Vueling allows pets such as dogs, cats, birds (excluding birds of prey), and turtles/tortoises on board as long as they can be carried in an approved pet carrier that is not rigid and measures: 45x39x2 cm and no heavier than 8 kg with the pet inside.
The airline also spruced up its menu for humans, offering healthy options such as a Heura plant-based burger with cheese, and puff pastry palm tree for celiacs.
