Siemens sells airport logistics division to Vanderlande in $325 million deal

The global powerhouse Siemens has reached an agreement to sell its airport logistics division to Dutch firm Vanderlande in a €300 million ($325 million) deal. 

Siemens Logistics announced news of the agreement on October 31, 2024, with confirmation that the transaction is expected to close in 2025.  

Vanderlande, owned by Toyota Industries Corporation, is based in Veghel and operates in the logistics sector within warehousing, airports, and parcel fields.  

“In Vanderlande, we have found the best future owner for our airport logistics business,” said Ralf Thomas, CFO of Siemens AG. “I’m very pleased that we have enabled Siemens Logistics to become a stable, profitable and leading company for airport logistics. With Vanderlande, we are paving the way for further future-oriented business development.”  

Thomas added: “By selling Siemens Logistics, we’re taking another important step in sharpening our portfolio as a leading technology company.”

Vanderlande operates in more than 600 airports, including 12 of the world’s top 20, and over 380 of its security lanes are installed at checkpoints worldwide.
