The engine of a Sukhoi Superjet 100-95LR aircraft caught fire after landing at Antalya Airport (AYT) in Turkey, a statement from the Ministry of Transport said.

The incident occurred on November 24, 2024. Flight AZO5051 flew from Sochi International Airport (AER) in Russia, and was scheduled to land at Antalya Airport at around 21:30 local time.

Flames and smoke came out of the aircraft’s engine as it landed at Antalya Airport, the ministry said.

First responders rushed to the plane, and all 89 passengers and six crew members were evacuated safely. No casualties or serious injuries were reported.

Video footage captured of the scene and uploaded to X shows passengers evacuating the runway, with the fiery aircraft in the background.

Further videos shared by the Turkish transport ministry showed fire extinguishing foam underneath the aircraft as firefighters sprayed the left-side engine to cool it down.

Data from FlightRadar24 said the Sukhoi Superjet 100, with registration (RA-89085), is seven years old.

Russia’s Federal Aviation Authority, Rosaviatsiya, said it was investigating the incident.
