The recently re-branded New Pacific Airlines (formerly Northern Pacific Airways) has announced the launch of two new domestic routes in the United States.

Starting November 16, 2023, the airline will fly from Ontario International Airport (ONT), California, an airport serving the LA area, to Reno (RNO), Nevada, and Nashville (BNA), Tennessee.

The announcement is in line with New Pacific Airlines’ pivot towards the domestic market.

The startup carrier originally intended to link the continental US primarily with Japan and Korea via Alaska. However, in view of the prolonged technical and regulatory difficulties with launching transpacific flights, the airline has switched to markets closer to its California home base.

The new routes, like all other New Pacific Airlines flights, will be operated by Boeing 757 aircraft.

Both Reno and Nashville will be served twice weekly (Reno on Thursdays and Sundays and Nashville on Fridays and Mondays). The other regular service New Pacific Airlines currently operates links Ontario and Las Vegas thrice weekly (on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays).

It is not currently known whether the airline will revisit plans to fly across the Pacific.
