Private jet manufacturer Gulfstream is expanding operations in Europe to support its growing fleet.

Announcing the move on May 22, 2023, the company said growth areas will include facilities, parts inventory, and its workforce.

At Gulfstream’s Farnborough Service Center, among the newest and most modern in its customer support network, a new repair and overhaul shop has been added to further aid local customers and those arriving from around the world.

Both the UK Civilian Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) have approved new capabilities, which encompass significant work on wheels, brakes, and batteries.

Inventory repair capabilities have also been extended to the Netherlands and Switzerland.

“The Gulfstream fleet is rapidly expanding, and we now have more than 230 aircraft based in Europe, not to mention the many customers from around the world flying through the region,” Derek Zimmerman, president of Gulfstream customer support said.

He added: “As a result, we have invested over $1 billion in ready-to-serve parts inventory, positioned around the world, with more than $70 million of this inventory located in Europe. We’ve also grown our footprint by 40% at the Amsterdam distribution center, where the majority of our Europe-based parts inventory is located.”

A new Gulfstream Field and Airborne Support Team (FAST) operations manager was also added to the Farnborough Service Center, marking the first time the role has been positioned outside of the United States.

This new role is in addition to four new technical specialists and two service engineers in the UK and a second field service representative (FSR) in both Spain and Austria

To date, there are more than 10 FSRs and 25 FAST members based throughout the UK and Europe as part of the Gulfstream customer support network that includes nearly 5,000 employees positioned worldwide.
