Pratt & Whitney will launch a new division called Pratt & Whitney Maroc (PWM) and build a new facility in Morocco, according to an announcement at the Paris Air Show 2023.

The factory will manufacture “detailed static and structural machined parts for various engine models,” Pratt & Whitney explained in a press release.

“Morocco offers many benefits for aerospace manufacturing,” said Maria Della Posta, president of Pratt & Whitney Canada. “The growing aerospace community in Casablanca ensures a highly valuable talent pool, a positive economic environment, and the support from Morocco’s government.”

Meanwhile, a representative of the Moroccan Ministry of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies said: “This factory will fit perfectly into the Moroccan aeronautical ecosystem, where we are proud to have over 40% of women working.”

Construction of the 130,000-square-foot facility, located in Casablanca, Morocco, will begin by the end of 2023 and is set for completion by 2025. The investment is estimated at around 70 million dollars.
