PLAY Airlines has launched its first ever flights from Iceland and the United States to Scotland.
The low-cost carrier will connect Reykjavik’s Keflavik Airport (KEF) and Glasgow International Airport (GLA) four times a week starting May 26, 2023.
Flights will be scheduled on the new route on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Glasgow will also now be connected to a number of popular US cities on PLAY aircraft, these include flights to Boston, Washington DC, Baltimore, and New York.
Passengers will make the journey across the Atlantic Ocean on one of PLAY’s 10 Airbus A320/321neo, all of which have an average age of approximately 2.5 years.
“As we continue to expand our network, PLAY is proud to announce the addition of Glasgow to our growing list of destinations,” said CEO Birgir Jónsson. “With our focus on affordability and convenience, passengers can experience our on-time performance and safe, reliable service while exploring Scotland’s vibrant city.”
He added: “We are excited to bring a new travel option to passengers, connecting them directly to and from Keflavik to Glasgow and to and from our routes across North America.”
