A passenger opened a door mid-flight on an Asiana Airlines Airbus A321 as it was landing at Daegu International Airport (TAE), South Korea

The Asiana Airlines aircraft, registered as HL8256, was operating the regularly scheduled flight OZ8124 from Jeju International Airport (CJU), South Korea, to TAE, when a passenger successfully opened the left-hand emergency exit.

According to a report by Yonhap News Agency (YNA), the incident left several people “with breathing difficulties”. The Airbus A321ceo landed safely at TAE at 12:39 PM local time (UTC +9), flightradar24.com records showed.

An Asiana Airlines official told YNA that a passenger used the emergency exit’s door lever, causing the door to open. Upon landing at TAE, local officials arrested an alleged suspect for opening the door. Videos posted to the social media site Twitter showed that passengers were sitting at their seats with the emergency exit being open mid-air.

No damage was reported to the aircraft, which is still on the ground at TAE at the time of writing.
