Lufthansa Cargo has added its 18th Boeing 777 freighter to its fleet.
The new aircraft was transferred directly from Boeing’s factory in Everett, Washington, United States, and arrived at Frankfurt Airport (FRA), the cargo airline’s largest hub, on August 17, 2024.
“We are delighted to welcome another efficient freighter to our fleet. This will allow us to provide our customers with additional capacity, continue to grow in the air freight market and enable global business,” Ashwin Bhat, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo, said in a statement. “The B777F remains the most efficient and modern freighter in its class.”
The new freighter has been given the name “¡Hola Argentina!” as part of the airline’s “Say hello around the world” theme.
Lufthansa Cargo currently operates a full B777F fleet of 12 of its own aircraft on long-haul routes. The global network is also supplemented by four A321 freighters operating on short and medium-haul routes.
In addition, six B777 freighters are operated by AeroLogic, a joint venture between DHL and Lufthansa Cargo.
