A privately owned Learjet 45 aircraft has skidded off the runway at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM), India.
According to Mint, the accident occurred at around 5:00 pm local time (UTC +5.5), when the private jet, registered as VT-DBL, landed on runway 27 during difficult weather conditions. The local Meteorological Aerodrome Report (METAR) provided by flightradar24.com showed that at 5:00 pm local time (UTC +5.5), there was heavy rainfall with visibility of 800 meters (0.49 miles) at the airport.
A METAR at 6:00 pm local time (UTC +5.5) indicated heavy rain, with visibility reduced to 700 m (0.43 mi).
Meanwhile, videos shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed emergency crews attending the crash, with fire trucks watering down the aircraft at the accident site.

The Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) told the Hindustan Times the Learjet 45 was involved in a runway excursion, with six passengers and two crew members on board.
However, another video on X (formerly Twitter) showed the Learjet 45 crashing into the runway while attempting to land at BOM.

Several aircraft can be seen circling near or around BOM on flightradar24.com, including an Akasa Air Boeing 737 MAX, registered as VT-YAG, which is operating flight QP1108 from Ahmedabad International Airport (AMD) to BOM.
Other aircraft include an IndiGo Airbus A321neo, registered as VT-IMC, two Vistara Airbus A320neos, registered as VT-TQC and VT-TYG, and an Air India Airbus A320neo, registered as VT-EXL.
Flightradar24.com shows that the current average arrival delay is 36 minutes, while departures are delayed on average by 18 minutes.
