Footage has been shared online showing the terrifying moments after an emergency door flew open on a flight in Brazil.

The aircraft, believed to be an Embraer EMB-110 Bandeirante, was full of passengers on Monday, June 12, 2023, when the incident happened.

In the footage those on board the flight appeared calm as air rushes through the inside the aircraft.

According to the Mail Online the incident occurred 30 minutes into a journey from Sao Luis to Salvador.

The pilot made an emergency landing at Hugo da Cunha Machado Airport (SLZ) in São Luís.

The plane was met by emergency services, but it is understood that no one on board was injured during the incident.

The video was recorded by a passenger who fearlessly seems to lean outside the aircraft to get a better view and reveals the door flapping in the wind above the plane.

It has been reported that South American singer Tierry was one of the passengers on the flight.

The incident is being investigated by the aviation authorities in Brazil.

The frightening situation comes just weeks after a passenger opened a door mid-flight on an Asiana Airlines Airbus A321 as it was landing at Daegu International Airport (TAE), South Korea.
