Delta Air Lines could have an interesting new flight route up its sleeve: Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) to Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN).

A social media post on X uploaded by aviation savant JonNYC was shared on September 24, 2024, showing what seems to be a report by the Atlanta-based carrier.

The report reads that SLC is the carrier’s “fastest growing core hub”, and details plans to launch the first transpacific route out of Salt Lake City in 10 years with a year-round service to Incheon, starting Summer of 2025.

Although the airline is yet to confirm the report, JonNYC said in a subsequent post that the document is current/updated.

If launched, Seoul will be the 12th international city to be connected from Salt Lake City.

As of September 2024, six carriers–Air Canada, Aeromexico, Aeromexico Connect, Delta Air Lines, Skywest and KLM fly to the following international cities out of SLC:

Forums such as Reddit suggest that the route could be catering to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which has more than 88,000 members who belong to 100 congregations in South Korea.
