British Airways has announced it intends to relaunch scheduled services from London-Stansted Airport for the summer of 2024. Flights will operate between the airport and a trio of popular holiday destinations in France, Spain, and Italy.

With services commencing on May 18, 2024, scheduled weekend flights will be offered to Nice (NCE), Florence (FLR), and Ibiza (IBZ). All the new flights will be operated by British Airways subsidiary BA CityFlyer using its fleet of Embraer 190s. These aircraft feature both Club Europe (business class) and Euro Traveller (economy) cabins.

“I am delighted to welcome back British Airways to London Stansted and very much look forward to the launch of their scheduled flights from the airport in May next year,” said Ciaran Brannigan, London-Stansted’s Commercial Director.

“London Stansted serves more European destinations than any other UK airport and these new services to Ibiza, Florence, and Nice are strong additions to our route network, which now covers over 190 destinations across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.”

“I’m sure these routes will be very popular with passengers from across London, Cambridge, and the growing East of England region who are looking to head off on their holidays next summer. We look forward to working closely with British Airways to build a strong working relationship and ensure these new flights are a success,” he added.

Next summer’s return of British Airways to Stansted marks the carrier resuming regular scheduled flights at the airport for the first time since before the global pandemic. The airport, located to the northeast of London, becomes the fourth London airport to be served by the carrier after Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW), and London City (LCY) airports.

Agadir also joins for summer 2024

In addition to the three new services from London-Stansted, British Airways has also announced that it will start services to Agadir (AGA) in Morrocco from London-Gatwick Airport.

The four-times-weekly flight will be operated by British Airways’ Gatwick short-haul subsidiary, BA Euroflyer, from March 31, 2024. Agadir joins Marrakech (RAK) as British Airways’ second Moroccan destination.

“Agadir is a coastal destination that enjoys 300 days of sunshine per year, so we know it will see strong demand from our leisure customers and particularly those seeking holiday packages,” said Tom Stoddart, CEO of BA Euroflyer. “It offers beaches, golf courses, and water sports alongside the opportunity to experience cultural landmarks, such as Agadir Kasbah.”

Like the Stansted flights, passengers have the choice of two cabins on every flight.
