Boeing announced an order for seven Boeing 737-8 airplanes from Kazakhstani air carrier SCAT Airlines during Dubai Airshow 2023.

This move is set to almost double SCAT’s existing 737 fleet, providing more capacity for new European routes.

“Today, SCAT Airlines is the most dynamically developing airline in Kazakhstan, and it boasts the largest aircraft fleet in the country,” said Vladimir Denissov, President of JSC SCAT Airlines. “Replenishing the fleet with seven more Boeing 737-8s will increase the airline’s carrying capacity. It will also have a positive impact on the timely execution of flight schedules. The company will have the opportunity to expand its route network and offer passengers even more travel destinations.”

Headquartered in Şhymkent, Kazakhstan, SCAT Airlines was the launch operator of the Boeing 737 MAX in the region. It currently operates three 737-8s and five 737-9s across destinations in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Central Asia.

Brad McMullen, Boeing Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing, emphasized the significance of this repeat order, saying: “This reaffirms SCAT’s trust in the 737 MAX family’s value, performance, and reliability. We’re excited to support their expansion and long-term success.”
