Boeing has paused delivery of its 787 Dreamliner series while a fuselage component undergoes analysis.

The announcement came from both Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Thursday, February 24, 2023.

The aviation manufacturer will need to show the FAA the issue is resolved before deliveries can be resumed.

“There is no immediate safety of flight concern for the in-service fleet. We are communicating with our customers and will continue to follow the lead of the FAA,” Boeing said. “While near-term deliveries will be impacted, at this time we do not anticipate a change to our production and delivery outlook for the year.”

According to Boeing, it found an “analysis error by our supplier related to the 787 forward pressure bulkhead”.

Production of the aircraft will continue as the issue with the fuselage component is resolved.

The FAA is also working with Boeing to “determine any actions that might be required for recently delivered airplanes”.
