BeOnd, a new premium startup airline based in the Maldives which launched in November 2023, will be offering its passengers Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset inflight.

With this move, BeOnd becomes the first airline to adopt Apple’s latest tech gadget for its inflight experience.

On February 2, 2024, Apple released its Vision Pro product. Worn like a pair of goggles, it provides an immersive experience combining information inputs from the virtual and real worlds.

“The Apple Vision Pro will transform the inflight entertainment experience, and we will be first to offer it to select passengers. In addition to our existing and ever-growing library of inflight content such as movies and games, Beond will showcase stunning resort destinations and activities in the Maldives.” said TEro Taskila, BeOnd’s founder and CEO in a press statement.

This service is set to be available for a limited number of passengers onboard BeOnd aircraft from July 2024.

BeOnd launched in November 2023 and it currently operates flights from Munich (MUC), Zurich (ZRH) and Riyadh (RUH) to Male (MLE), the Maldivian capital city.

After closing a $13 million funding round in December 2023, BeOnd has added a second aircraft, an Airbus A321, and announced the launch of Milan (MXP), Bangkok (BKK) and Dubai (DWC) as new destinations (having already using Dubai-DWC for technical stops on its flights between Europe and the Maldives).
