For the ninth year in a row, Japan’s ANA Group has received a gold recognition in the PRIDE Index 2024 assessment by “Work With Pride”, a Japanese nonprofit organization.

The PRIDE Index aims to help to create workplaces in Japan where LGBTQ+ individuals can work comfortably.

ANA said it has long prioritized fostering a safe and inclusive work environment for all employees and has actively supported LGBTQ+ rights through various educational initiatives, including seminars, e-learning courses and discussion groups.

To promote an inclusive workplace and address LGBTQ+ issues, ANA Group established its Basic Policy on Respect for Diversity of Sexuality (LGBTQ+).

In 2023, the group launched activities that engaged nearly 580 employees as allies to support and advocate for their LGBTQ+ colleagues.

“We strive daily to champion diversity, inclusion and acceptance,” Junko Yazawa, Group Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer said in a statement.

“Our ‘ANA Group LGBTQ+ Policy’ is central to this mission, providing training and systems necessary to eliminate discrimination and prejudice. Achieving Gold recognition for the ninth consecutive year is a significant achievement, and we remain committed to finding new ways to foster a truly inclusive workplace for all our employees,” Yazawa added.

Work With Pride’s evaluation is based on five key factors: policy, representation, inspiration (activities to raise awareness), development (training/educational systems and programs) and engagement/empowerment. 36 of ANA HOLDING’s group companies performed with distinction in all categories.
