Alaska Airlines will be launching five new nonstop routes, expanding its presence in California and the Pacific Northwest.

In a press release published on October 1, 2024, the carrier announced that it is to offer new routes connecting Las Vegas (LAS) to both San Diego (SAN) and Santa Rosa/Sonoma County (STS).

Additionally, there will be connections from Los Angeles (LAX) to Pasco (PSC), Washington (IAD) and Reno (RNO). The airline will also restart direct flights between Portland (PDX) and Atlanta (ATL).

“Travel demand continues to be strong, and we are excited to provide our guests with more options for their next business trip or autumn getaway,” said Kirsten Amrine, Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning.

“With the addition of these new nonstop routes, we also continue to strengthen our presence throughout the state of California and connect Pacific Northwest communities with our broader network,” Amrine added.

Alaska Airlines is to start operating two new flights from Los Angeles, making it the airline with the most daily flights to West Coast destinations from LAX Airport. The Los Angeles-Reno flight will run twice daily, and the Los Angeles-Pasco route will be serviced with one daily flight. Each of these new routes will be operated by Embraer 175 aircraft.

Additionally, Las Vegas is now the 39th nonstop destination from San Diego for Atlanta. Las Vegas-San Diego and Las Vegas-Santa Rosa/Sonoma County routes will be operational once daily. Both services will be served by an Embraer 175 aircraft.

The carrier added that it will reopen the daily cross-country route from Portland to Atlanta, using a Boeing 737-900 aircraft.
