In November 2023, Latvian carrier airBaltic launched a competition to find a uniquely designed livery for its 50th A220-300 aircraft which is set to arrive in 2024.
The Baltic carrier invited members of the public to submit their designs in what the airline described as a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to become “part of aviation history and be seen by millions”.
From 840 livery submissions, airBaltic has handpicked 21 designs that could potentially become the chosen livery for its 50th A220-300.
The decision regarding which livery wins is being handed over to airBaltic Club members who can vote online after checking out all 21 liveries.
Among the 21 possibilities are ‘Origami Birds’, ‘Girl in the Clouds’ and ‘The White Wagtail’.
Although you must be a club member to register a selection, everyone is free to take a look at the 21 incredible liveries on the airline’s website.
The design that receives the most votes will be announced on January 9, 2023, however airBaltic retains the right to pick any of the top three entries.

The winner will not only have their design adorned across airBaltic’s latest Airbus A220-300 but also be presented with a €3,000 ($3,278) gift certificate to use on the airline.
“airBaltic is a proud owner of one of the largest fleets of world-class Airbus A220-300 worldwide. As we journey towards our 100th aircraft, we’re thrilled to reach the halfway mark, with the 50th aircraft expected in November 2024,” the airline wrote.
