ATR has announced an order with Air Tahiti for four new ATR 72-600 aircraft and an eight-year Global Maintenance Agreement (GMA) on the third day of the Farnborough International Airshow 2024. The new regional airliners are set to be delivered between 2025 and 2028.

“Air Tahiti has been a cornerstone in Tahiti and its islands for more than 65 years, facilitating not just travel but a better quality of life,” Edouard Wong Fat, CEO of Air Tahiti, noted. “By ensuring our communities have easy access to essential goods, services, and cultural experiences, we’ve also helped boost the local economy and tourism. The ATR fleet has been pivotal in these efforts and it will continue to enable us to offer reliable and responsible connectivity.”

The GMA, ATR’s comprehensive maintenance package, will optimize operations and reduce costs through repair, overhaul, and pooling services.

Air Tahiti currently operates a fleet of 11 ATR 72-600s and ATR 42-600s to serve Tahiti and its surrounding islands. The additional aircraft will help the airline increase flight frequency and capacity.
