Air Canada allegedly kicks off passengers who refused vomit-covered seats

An Air Canada passenger recently took to Facebook to share a troubling incident.

In a post dated August 29, 2023, Susan Benson said she took Air Canada to fly from Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) to Montreal-pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL).

Benson said there was already a foul smell on the seats in front of her when she boarded, but the source was initially unknown.

Later on, Benson found out that someone from the previous flight vomited and soiled a couple of seats. She said that Air Canada attempted to do a quick clean-up prior to boarding but it was not enough.

Benson said the two ladies assigned to those seats were “struggling” to get seated. Air Canada tried placing coffee grinds and spraying the seats with perfume, but the passengers pointed out that the seats and seatbelts were still wet and there were still traces of vomit.

Benson said that the flight attendant was very apologetic, but explained that the flight was full and that there was nothing they could do.

The passengers then told the flight attendant that they couldn’t possibly be expected to “sit in vomit” for five hours.

At this point, Benson said that the flight attendant said she would get her supervisor. The supervisor arrived, and just reiterated everything the flight attendant said.

The passengers then requested if they could at least have some blankets and wipes so they could attempt to clean and take out as much of the vomit as they could.

Benson said that when the passengers finally settled in their seats, the flight’s pilot came and told the two ladies that they had two choices: they could leave the plane on their own accord and organize flights on their own dime, or they would be escorted off the plane by security and placed on a no fly list.

The pilot then asked the two passengers why they were being rude to the flight attendant. Benson said that another passenger nearby explained to the pilot that there was vomit on their seats, and that “as a police officer” they would “never treat people like that.”

The pilot then went to the front of the aircraft, and, according to Benson, the next thing they knew airport security entered the aircraft and escorted the two passengers off the flight.

“I cannot stop thinking about these two ladies. They did nothing wrong. They were flying to Vienna via Montreal. I am ashamed to be a Canadian and ashamed of Air Canada. I would like for as many people as possible to share this. I have already complained to Air Canada directly and placed it on other social media platforms. I hope they find a good lawyer and sue the pants off Air Canada.  Shame on you Air Canada! shame on you!” Benson ended her post, clearly upset.
