Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria Limited (ACN), known as Aero Contractors, will restart flights on December 5, 2022 after a four-month halt, the airline announced through social media.
The airline’s new Chief Executive Officer, Ado Sanusi, revealed it will relaunch as a ‘different’ airline that will avoid the mistakes of its past, according to a Nigerian Flight Deck report.
“We have studied what we have done before, we have looked at what caused the failures of the past and we are very determined not to make the same mistakes and to expect different results,” said Sanusi in the report.
During the airline’s downtime, Sanusi revealed that Aero Contractors remodelled its business to focus on four self-sustaining ‘strategic business units’.
These units include maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), fixed wing services, rotary wing services and personnel training.
Aero Contractors suspended its scheduled passenger operations from July 20, 2022. This was due to reasons pertaining to the airline’s fleet maintenance, resulting in its inability to offer efficient services to its customers, as the airline announced in a July 2022 statement.
The Lagos-based airline will recommence its operations with six planes consisting of Boeing 737 and Dash 8 Q-300/400 aircraft which will be deployed across ten destinations, namely Abuja, Asaba, Benin, Calabar, Port Harcourt, Kano, Lagos, Sokoto, Warri and Yola.
