Fiji Airways is lending some of its warmth to Canada by launching its inaugural direct flight from Nadi International Airport (NAN) to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) on November 25, 2022.

The twice-weekly direct flight to Vancouver is Fiji Airways’ first flight to Canada. The airline uses its Airbus A330 fleet, which has the capacity to carry 273 passengers.

“We are thrilled to welcome Fiji Airways to YVR and are proud to make Vancouver the airline’s first Canadian destination in its growing network,” Mike McNaney, vice president & chief external affairs officer at Vancouver Airport Authority said in a statement.

“The new nonstop service to Fiji is an important connection between our two regions, directly benefiting our community and the economy that supports it,” McNaney added.

“Our Five Star airline, and multi-award-winning onboard experience, including meals, amenities and staff service offer the best value for money,” Fiji Airways managing director and chief executive officer Andre Viljoen said.

Viljoen added: “With Canada well into winter and travelers eagerly looking for warm tropical paradise, the timing of our newest route could not be better. There is no other choice than Fiji.”

The twice-weekly direct flights are operated on the following schedule:

FJ 880 departs NAN 22:15 local time, arrives in YVR 13:20 local time the same day

FJ 881 departs YVR 20:40 local time, arrives in NAN 05:30 local time two days later
