LATAM Airlines and Delta Air Lines have announced their first operational venture together: the launch of a new service between Sao Paulo’s Governor André Franco Montoro International Airport (GRU) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) beginning July 1, 2023.

The two airlines received approval of their joint venture to provide more connections between North and South America in September 2022.

In an announcement, Delta said that LATAM will be the only airline operating a non-stop flight between Brazil and Los Angeles. From Los Angeles, passengers can then connect to Delta’s other destinations in the West Coast of the US.

Delta also said that the new route will offer customers access to the largest US – South America corporate and overall market from LAX, where Delta is the largest global carrier.

The Sao Paulo – Los Angeles service will have an initial frequency of three times per week on a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, with capacity for 410 passengers (38 in the Premium Business cabin, 50 in Economy+ and 322 in Economy).

The intended operational schedule is as follows:

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays: Depart Sao Paulo 23:05 local time, arrive Los Angeles 07:00 local time the following day.

Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays: Depart Los Angeles 13:00 local time arrive Sao Paulo 05:20 local time the following day.

While flights will not commence until July 2023, flight bookings are now available on both LATAM and Delta Air Line’s websites.
